Are you ready to jump with us? I want to see eight thousand asses in the air!, commanded vocalist Corey Taylor as
the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey took the full brunt of multi-masked Des Moines act Slipknot.
The attack began with enticing visuals from their "Disasterpieces" DVD being played which hyped the crowd to ear-scattering screams as a mammouth white curtain dropped to reveal the band.
Taylor forewarned the "maggot" faithful, You're in for a few surprises tonight.
Memorable highlights include a resounding version of "Pulse Of The Maggots" off the band's newest release Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) and the lyrics "I fight for the ones who can't fight and if I lose at least I tried!" sung from the heart by the NYC metro faithful with "M" Pulse graphics flashing on a dual set of on stage screens.
Drummer Joey Jordison has never looked so massive with a complex drumkit complete with a drum riser that kept rising and rising and rising still. For those that haven't seen the "Disasterpieces" DVD, this is an exhilirating feat to see live and a treat for the concert going jaded.
Every voice in the house could be heard belting out the heart wrenching lyrics "I don't know what to do when she makes me sad" from "Left Behind".
In his typical bigger than life manner, Taylor scolded the crowd that they were not being loud enough and noted that "we're only getting started". He introduced "Heretic Anthem" with, "Are you ready to lose your minds m--f--rs?" which kept the arena out of their seats and leaping over the stage barricades.

Thrash heavy Lamb of God ripped through tracks off their heavily touted Epic release Ashes Of The Wake including the thought-provoking single "Laid To Rest". Dynamic frontman Randy Blythe exhausted himself working the entire stage and seemingly visiting each fan personally, dousing them with bottled water. Take note that a DualDisc version of Ashes Of The Wake hits stores March 22nd with the DVD featuring exclusive videos and an enhanced LPCM Stereo mix of the entire album. Categorize this under "metal that matters".
