Bullet For My Valentine Unveil New Video, MP3
|
| 31 July 2005 |
 The
debut CD from
Bullet For My
Valentine comes out August 23rd on Trustkill Records. Check out the new video,
and MP3
for the song "Hand Of Blood" and the live video
for the song "4 Words To Choke Upon."
Bullet For My Valentine have been confirmed for Hellfest and will be
announcing more dates soon. Though the band has drawn comparisons to Funeral For A Friend and UK label mates Lost Prophets, the band’s debut EP which was produced and mixed by Colin Richardson (Machine Head, Fear Factory, Slipknot) already has the BBC proclaiming that “Bullet For My Valentine rock much harder, much louder.” The band is driven by an old school metallic punch nurtured by years of growing up on Metallica and Iron Maiden. |
Release: Bullet For My Valentine - Hand of Blood - In Stores August 23rd
|
| 29 June 2005 |
The Trustkill Records roster has gone transatlantic with their latest signing of Welsh quartet
Bullet For My
Valentine. The band will be releasing the Hand of Blood EP in the US on August 23rd and plan a stateside tour for the same month. This is offset by frenzied, often angst-like screamed vocals that lend a hardcore edge. Blended in the mix, are singer Matt Tuck’s lyrics which are by turns dark and romantic.
UK fans already got a taste when the band won the coveted supporting slot on metal giants Chimaira’s UK tour. Soon after, the band was tapped to play the Download Festival which showcases the best of hard rock and metal. There, they shared the stage with the likes of Lamb of God, In Flames and Unearth. “We drove up there at dawn with music cranked right up to 11,” says bassist Jason James. “There we were at 10 in the morning, standing on the main-stage with beers in our hands. It was like, ’Well, this is it, boys. This is where we’re meant to be.’”
The band, comprised of vocalist Tuck, guitarist Michael “Padge” Padget, drummer Michael “Moose” Thomas and bassist James, began as Jeff Killed John. The band was due to record when, the day before entering the studio, their bassist up and quit. “Everything went completely tits up, and it was a really big kick in the balls but it made us stronger,” says Tuck.
The band soon shed their regrettable moniker and any trace of former nu-metal stylings and emerged as Bullet For My Valentine. Soon, major labels came a-calling and after turning down deals including one from Roadrunner Europe, the band settled with Sony UK. Shopping for a home across the pond, the band turned to Trustkill, a major name in independent metal and hardcore. Expect their debut full-length on Trustkill Records due out on Valentines Day 2006!. |

New Music: Dead Poetic, The Beautiful Mistake
|
| 06 April 2004 |
Check out what is hitting record stores this week: Dead Poetic - New Medicines (Solid State) Dead Poetic return with their hotly anticipated second set on Solid State. On their debut Four Wall Blackmail, it was difficult to make out just exactly who Dead Poetic was, the album walked an awkward line between hardcore and nu-metal. With New Medicines, Dead Poetic have clearly defined themselves with a record that feels very much at home for the band, rich in beautifully textured melodies and warm, inviting backdrops. The album is graceful and dynamic, accessible, but still emotionally challenging. Tracks like “Vanus Empty” and “Taste The Red” are endearing and not easily forgotten. -For fans of Thrice, Story Of The Year, Lostprophets, Linkin Park -Preview tracks from New Medicines at PureVolume.comThe Beautiful Mistake - This Is Who You Are (The Militia Group) The Beautiful Mistake team with producer Michael Rosen (Dredg) on their lush new album, This Is Who You Are. The second offering from The Beautiful Mistake is a much more streamlined effort, with songs that flow from one to the next with a grand orchestral feel. The songs on This Is Who You Are are pure and honest, boldly emotional and filled with many nuances once you get past the surface. The title track “This Is Who You Are” best represents The Beautiful Mistake’s brand of loud, emotional rock with its clean, powerful guitar backing and grand inspired chorus. The Beautiful Mistake’s carefully constructed arrangement and artful, subtle style set them apart from a crowded pack. -For fans of Further Seems Forever, Straylight Run, Coheed And Cambria -Preview tracks from This Is Who You Are at PureVolume.com |

New Music: Lostprophets, Incubus
|
| 30 January 2004 |
Check out new albums hitting record stores on Tuesday (2/3): Lostprophets - Start Something (Columbia) It seems as though we’ve been anticipating new music from Lostprophets for years. Back in 2000, the little buzz band that could out of the UK created a deafening frenzy among online rock fans with their insanely infectious debut effort, The Fake Sound Of Progress. With such classic cuts as "Shinobi vs Dragon Ninja" and the ominous title track, the band was quickly swooped up by Columbia Records. The major label release came nearly a year and a half after its original release, and failed to get the big push or connect with U.S. audiences. It was still very apparent though that the Lostprophets were destined for great things. Now four years later, an aged and refined Lostprophets drop Start Something. The slickly produced return is chalk full of passionate, well-crafted songs. Lostprophets have stepped out with incredible cuts like "Last Train Home", a menacing mix of jarring melodies and addictive hooks. A band that truly deserves to step out of the clubs and into the arenas, 2004 could be a defining year for the Lostprophets. -For fans of Linkin Park, Incubus, The Used, Thrice, etc. -See the video for "Last Train Home" here. Also out 2/3: Incubus - A Crow Left Of The Murder (Epic) Gadget - Remote (Relapse) |
